The final sign-off

Friday mornings: all 2,838 students shift uncomfortably in their chairs during first block, waiting for the click of the intercom at 9:15 and the sound of “The Office” theme song to sound. It is a sweet, and much needed reminder of the nearing weekend.

 

But in anticipation of each week’s Friday morning broadcast, one crucial and inconvenient fact has been forgotten. The majority of the Video Production Club members, including hosts Eddie Monk and Kate McGinnis, weatherman Peter Von Kahle, and key production members Bret Waters, Alex Cunningham, Ravi Shah and Moose Sayasithsena, will all graduate in June. Chantilly wins Wachovia Cup for 9th time

High School League (VHSL) Wachovia Cup for academics in the state’s AAA group.

 

“I’m very proud of out students and staff because it’s a wide variety of activities that are ranked and it shows the extent of how great our programs are,” Subschool 4 assistant principal KT Lynch said.

 

Points were awarded for academic activities including scholastic bowl, creative writing, theater, forensics, debate, newspaper, yearbook and magazine, which performed well.

 

“It’s actually really impressive that we won it,” junior Emily Morris said. “But it’s a shame nobody really knows what the award is.” Read more...
