Although the girls varsity lacrosse team lost the Concorde District final game 14-13 to the Robinson Rams, senior attack Maya Ahronovich said the team could use it as motivation in the Northern Region Tournament.
“Even though we didn’t come out with a district title,” Ahronovich said. “Maybe that’s the motivation we need to help us in regionals.”
The team was down by three goals after the first half but came back to tie the game at 13 with five minutes to play.
Both teams had multiple chances to score, but the Rams offense came through, scoring a controversial goal with one second left to play. The team thought the goal came after the final whistle, but the refs maintained that it was a valid score.
